On packing

December 14, 2009

Not many things in this world cause more stress for me than packing.  I hate it.  It’s tedious, it requires forward planning and always reminds me that I have way too many things, scattered in way too many places.  It’s a reminder that I truly am a vagabond.  No closet, no apartment, no city to […]

Finally! Gallery of August in Italy

December 12, 2009

It has taken me nearly four months, but I’ve finally uploaded a good selection from our trip through Italy in August. I’ve got to say that Italy is one of the best countries in the world. If all you had was a few weeks to explore Europe, GO TO ITALY. The history, the scenery, the […]

Ode to Argentina

December 11, 2009

The next leg of the journey

December 7, 2009

My time in Argentina is slowly drawing to a close.  SEVEN WEEKS have gone by since I landed here in late October.  I can’t believe how quickly they’ve gone.  It’s a very short time to feel settled in a place and I’ve only just begun to get the feel for the city, the country and […]

Los tesoros de los barrios

December 5, 2009

“Buenos Aires es un quilombo!”. This is one of the first “slang” phrases I learned when I got to the city. Buenos Aires is a mess! I real mess! [The literal translation of “quilombo” comes from Africa and means “an orgy of a mess”]. And after living here for 8 weeks, I can understand why […]
