I can’t believe it but I think my little brother has suddenly turned into a man. We went to Stanford and took photos today and wow, I can’t believe how grown up he looks. I think he’s quite handsome (of course, you could say I’m a little biased).
We’re back from a few days in Puerto Rico where we had the pleasure of seeing one of the Boy’s oldest friends get married. We’re scheduled to attend four weddings this year and each will have us criss-crossing continents between now and the end of September. And is it just me, or has there also been a rise in the number of pregnancies and babies being born amongst our peers? You know you’re getting old when…
Without further ado, here are some highlights from the time down south. Congratulations to Pablo and Desiree on their nuptials! And a hats off to beautiful Puerto Rico. It reminded me so much of old Lisbon!
This was home for us over the last 10 days. It seems we’ve been making nests all over the map these last two years, and all of them equally comfy. Home is where your heart is.
As crazy as this city can be, it never ceases to amaze me just how beautiful some of the architecture is. We’ll be driving by some random neighbourhood and catch a glimpse of perfectly restored French colonial buildings.
I’m a night owl. He’s an early bird. I can sleep in till noon if left to my own devices. He’s up prowling the apartment like a cat at 7.30 AM. Sometimes he takes pictures of sunrises. Like this morning. I think I’ve only ever seen one, maybe two, sunrises in my life. Once in Greece while dancing till dawn and second on an airplane crossing the international date line. =)
This is an oldie but a goodie. Way back in November 2008, a good friend and I did a 10 day trip to China. Braving dodgy, local airline companies, we made it to Kunming and Lijiang. Cold, remote and ancient. We hired guides that could hardly speak English and explored dark, traditional tea houses in long-forgotten towns. It was the most exotic vacation ever. A totally different world.
I’ve seen many beaches in my travels and I would have to say that Boracay’s is the closest to paradise. It’s an amazing place. I would highly recommend it! Yes, it’s even better than Thailand!
Hi there! I'm Denise. I share my name with Dionysia, the Greek god of wine, pleasure and joy. I'm a photographer, writer, marketer vagabond. I take photographs of enchanted places and the people seduced by them. This blog is an account of the wisdom, joy and grace that I've encountered along the way, and a place where I showcase some of my favourite photographs.
If you have similar stories to share, have questions about purchasing prints or just want to say hello, I'd love to hear from you!
