Today has been our best day trip so far. The Deej and I Eurostarred to Venice. The weather today couldn't have been more perfect – sunny, warm, blues skies and no breeze. Amazing for wandering. This year in Europe has made me into a real power walker. I think Deej had a hard time keeping up – though I do have to make note that he is healing a pulled ankle ligamant (oh breakdancers!).
Venice is a sight to see but I don't think wed come back for more. Its different from any other place in the world! Colourful and whimsical, it feels like an adult Disneyland. But after seeing the Grand Canal, San Marco and getting lost among the labyrinth of streets, there isn't much else to do here. I'm glad we decided against an overnight stay
. The most dramatic part was walking out of the train station and right into the Grand Canal! It was breathtaking. So easy!
Deej is passed out in the seat beside me and we're just crossing the lagoon back to the mainland. Bye Venice! Thanks for the pictures and the great day of wandering.
Tonight I fell in love. With London. Again.
The weather here has been incredible. In the twenties, even at 9pm at night. I decided to walk home from work at around 8pm. Dusk, warm, quiet through Hyde Park. I haven't felt peace like that in a very long time. There were girlfriends on blankets having dinner in the dim light. I could hear their laughter across the field. Joggers and bikers and couples walking after dinner. It was beautiful. I could not contain my bliss. This city is beautiful. Bustling, cosmopolitan, green, multicultural and so delicious this time of year.
Gah. Amazing.
I pray to God that my mind was playing tricks on me because I think I just saw a little mouse scurry under the shelf.
EEEEEKS!
While having brunch in a random square in Barcelona this past weekend, we heard this amazing Spanish song by Carlos Buente. I downloaded his entire album today and have been deliriously joyful ever since. There is something inspiring and dramatic about setting life to music. The bus ride home at dusk was magical. I came home to my flat, opened my huge windows to the balcony and turned on the lamps. There is no breeze coming in through the windows and my Spanish music is filling me with so much joy I think I might explode. I need to learn this language. I am tongue tied just listening to it.
I am tickled pink with inspiration tonight. To write, to dance, to look up at the sky and kiss the air on my face. Life is so so good. I am in London, on this beautiful warm night. I am living this unbelievable dream life of travel, exploration and self discovery. I've met countless people, seen countless places, learning about different cultures and people. Honestly, I can't even think of a better life right now. I dictate my time and my decisions. I am responsible only for me. There is an incredible freedom in the independence of all of this. And though sometimes it gets lonely, I feel stronger, more confident, more capable. The perspective had broadened my mind and makes me crave more more more.
I want more discovery, more learning, more newness. There are so many places to see, so much left to experience, so many new and wonderful things to try, to risk, to feel over. It all feels so limitless tonight. So infinitely open and delicious.
I am happy. So happy in this place, in this skin, in this pocket of time.

I was in Barcelona this past weekend. So nice to go back to that city. After four years, it still looks and feels the same. La Boqueria market still had the same colourful fruit stands. Park Guell still felt like it came right out of Disneyland. And beautiful women are still sunbathing nude on the beaches. I love going to Spain for the weekend. It's so easy – short flight, AMAZING food, great shopping and fantastic weather. We found a local haunt just of La Laetana street – cheap, delicious tapas tapas tapas! Mmmmm tapas!
I plan on going back before the end of the year so that I can properly take pictures. The Sagrada Familia is still my favourite place to visit there! Still amazing, still beautiful, still an awe inspiring work of beautiful art.
Ah travel. I am deliriously addicted. When will it stop???
Next weekend: Italy with the Deej!!!
PS: London is WARM WARM WARM. Twenty degrees and beautiful. Gosh, life is so so good!
